Cheque fraud warning

Battlefords RCMP are warning area businesses to be on the lookout for bad cheques.

Officers are current investigating several cases of fraud in the Battlefords and surrounding are.

In each case, a man is asking to have company cheques be cashed at local businesses. The account linked to the cheques is currently closed and the cheques are not being honoured.

“Businesses in the area are being advised to use caution when cashing company cheques,” says Cpl. Bonnie McLean in a press release.
