Holy Qur’an exhibition in North Battleford

Comments

A cross country tour to promote Islam and the Holy Qur’an is coming to North Battleford next week.

Volunteers from the Ahmadiyya Muslim Youth Association of Canada (AMYA) , a non-profit charitable religious organization in over 200 countries, will be including North Battleford as part of their 12-day tour of the prairies.

These youth volunteers plan to be in the city March 14. On the agenda for the day will be a meeting with Mayor Ian Hamilton at 9 a.m., followed later in the day with an event from 2 to 7 p.m. at North Battleford Public Library. It will be called The Holy Qur’an Open House.

The event is open to the public and designed to promote religious harmony, dispel misconceptions about Islam and to educate people about the teachings of Islam.

The tour of the prairies follows upon a tour of several public libraries in Ontario that started Jan. 14, and the organization has been touring over 200 communities in Canada over the past year with the help of over 2,600 volunteers. Organizers say they have been promoting peace, condemning terrorism and dispelling myths about Islam as a part of a Nationwide campaign for the past year.
