Dominion finals set for Monday

Four teams have advanced to their respective finals at the provincial Dominion curling championships being held at the Estevan Curling Club this weekend.

The men's and women's finals, originally scheduled for Sunday evening, were pushed back to Monday after a pair of tie-breakers were required on Sunday.

According to the Saskatchewan Curling Association's website, the men's final will run at 9:30 a.m. on Monday, followed by the women's final at 1 p.m.

In the men's final, Brad Bibby (4-2) of Prince Albert will face Brian Humble (4-1) of Saskatoon. Both finished second in their respective pools in the round-robin. Bibby defeated Aaron Gaudreau 7-3 in one semifinal, while Humble beat Lloyd Fell 8-2 in the other.

The women's final features Danette Tracey (5-0) of Weyburn against Heather Burnett (4-0) of Martensville. The rinks were each first in their pools in the round-robin. Tracey routed Denise Jabusch 7-2 in one semi, with Burnett hammering Kimberley Eklund 8-2 in the other.

A total of 24 teams were in Estevan for the two competitions, including 13 men's teams and 11 women's teams.
