Notre Dame Catholic Women's League members passed out postcards at masses on the Oct. 17 and 18 weekend at Notre Dame Church.

This was the "Pornography Hurts" White Ribbon Campaign held annually. Parishioners were encouraged to wear the white ribbon and sign and send the postcards to Ottawa, one to the minister of Justice and the other to their MP. The postcards pictured a child with a tear in her eye and "pornography hurts" written across the card.

Several members attended the fall workshop in Cut Knife on Oct. 17 at  Our Lady of Perpetual Help. Guest speakers Jim and Maureen McLane spoke on family planning.

The annual Parish fall supper, organized by the CWL, was once more a great success thanks to the hard work of Notre Dame parishioners. More than 600 meals were served.

A western theme entertained members the evening of Nov. 25 at the membership fun night. Members were encouraged to partake in the line dancing demonstrated by guest dancer Judy Tokle.

Dec. 6, from noon. to 4 p.m., a multicultural festival parish fundraiser was held at the Knights of Columbus Hall. CWL members worked a concession booth and contributed to and manned a baked goods table. Several of our members also work on the fundraising committee. There were eight ethnic groups represented with ethnic food for sale, ethnic entertainment, a silent auction and draws and door prizes. Much hard work provided a successful function.
