It is now official that Glenn Tait will be on the ballot for the New Democrats in Battlefords-Lloydminster.
Tait's nomination was confirmed on the Elections Canada website and he will be on the ballot for the Oct. 19 election.
The news comes after a hectic week for the NDP after the surprising withdrawal of Sandra Arias as the nominee this week, citing financial pressures.
Tait, who is from the Meota area and who has a long history in local and NDP party politics in the area, was the NDP's candidate in Battlefords-Lloydminster in 2011.
He is one of five candidates confirmed to be on the ballot in the riding. The others are incumbent Gerry Ritz of the Conservatives, Larry Ingram of the Liberals, Mikaela Tenkink of the Green Party, and former MP and MLA Doug Anguish who is running as an independent.
