After several months with an interim mayor, a new mayor has been elected to take over in the town of Kindersley.

Rod Perkins won the mayor’s race there with 935 votes, defeating Tom Morris who received 435.

The results were declared in a short ceremony held in council chambers at the Kindersley administration office.

Perkins takes over from Shaun Henry, who had been serving as acting mayor of Kindersley since early this year. Henry was re-elected to council in the election.

There is a local Battlefords angle to the story. The former Kindersley mayor was John Enns-Wind, who resigned in January to accept his new job as chief administrative officer in Battleford.
