Battleford town council has approved a discretionary use application for a new retail store at the former House of Kwon location at 592 - 35th St.
The applicant is All Out Graphics and Design Ltd. The discretionary use application was for a retail store (Graphics Design and Clothing) in conjunction with an office building. It is located in the C2 Highway Commercial District.
Right now, Canada Post has its temporary location on the property, behind the main building to the east.
According to the application before council Monday, the retail store would include graphic design apparel and embroidery, silkscreen, heat transfers for sign banners, vehicle wraps, window tinting on commercial buildings and automotives, business cards, flyers and others. Hours are Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The application was advertised and there was one response from the Ministry of Highways that was basically a reminder that any permanent development within 90 meters of the highway right of way requires a permit from the ministry, and that no new access to Highway 4 will be permitted by the ministry.
The discretionary use application carried unanimously.
“Welcome to All Out Graphics and Design Ltd. to the town of Battleford,” was the comment of Mayor Derek Mahon after the vote.
