The Battlefords Boys and Girls Club held their annual Soap Box Derby Saturday at the Territorial Place Mall. The Soap Box Derby is a major fundraiser for the club and this year 27 teams participated in the races and the competition for the best cheer and best-dressed team.

Holly Hildebrand, Roy Sydiaha and Byron Olsen worked together to turn the Bready Grade 7s into an improvised, "junk"-based orchestra. The orchestra performed music written by Olsen and Sydiaha for the rest of the school.
Battlefords Minor Football took to the field Monday to start off the second season of the six-on-six youth football program.

The 22nd annual Svoboda Dance Festival was held at the Don Ross Centre from April 27 to 29. The event featured adjudication by Kristina Washchyshyn and ten different dance companies from Saskatchewan and Alberta.
