Katherine Beaudry April 24, 1924 - March 25, 2012 It is with great sadness the family of Katherine Beaudry announce her passing on March 25, 2012 at the age of 87 years. Katherine is survived by her fifteen children, Lucy (Oscar) Berube, Delores (Norman) O'Reilly, Mary, Al (Kathy), Lee (Charles) Amor, Larry (Dale), Tony (Helen), Andy (Dayle), Victor (Christine), Ray, Mike (Lisa), Therese (Michael) De Long, Yvonne (Jocelyn Orb), Ed (Morgan) and Marcel (Samantha); her 17 grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; her sisters Helen Ehman, Theresa (Ed) Ziobrowski, Agnes (Adrian) Fuchs, Martha (Bill) Yerex and Mary Bell; her brothers Frank (Rosemarie) Sikora and John (Elsie) Sikora. She is predeceased by her husband Raymond Beaudry; her parents Helen (Suwala) and Frank Osiowy; her step-father Jospeh Sikora; seven brothers; and four sisters. Mom was born and raised in Lemburg, Saskatchewan and married Dad in Coleman, Alberta in 1942. Throughout their life together they lived in all four of the Western Provinces but the open prairies of Saskatchewan always held a special place in Mom's heart and she lived there most of her life. Mom loved music and art, was an accomplished seamstress and had a marksman's eye. She was a fantastic cook, always able to create a meal out of the most basic ingredients and applied her skills at the CO-OP cafeteria where she worked for many years. She was extremely supportive and protective of her children and sacrificed much for their wellbeing, always enjoying their visits and the opportunity to envelop them in the comforting stories about the "olden days". Her love of nature was apparent in her gardens filled with flowers and vegetables and her many potted plants where no broken stem was ever discarded but given the chance to root. Friends and loved ones often found themselves laughing as they were treated to her witty humour. The family expresses deepest thanks to Carol Giesinger (Mom's newly adopted 16th child) for all her love and time spent with Mom. The family also expresses special thanks to Dr. Arun Nayar and the staff at Central Haven Nursing Home in Saskatoon; to Ken Bosch and the staff at 12th Avenue Pharmacy in North Battleford; and to Ron Gagne (our neighbour) for watching out for Mom when Dad passed away. Donations to Central Haven Nursing Home, c/o Resident's Fund, 1020 Avenue I North Saskatoon, SK, S7L 2H7 would be appreciated in lieu of flowers. A Remembrance of Katherine was held at Park Funeral Chapel (311 Third Avenue North, Saskatoon) on Thursday, March 29, 2012 at 7:00 pm. The Funeral Service was held at Notre Dame Roman Catholic Church (1201 - 105th Street, North Battleford, SK) on Friday, March 30, 2012 at 2:00 pm. Rite of Committal followed in North Battleford City Cemetery. To send online condolences to the family, visit www.parkfuneral.ca. Arrangements were entrusted to PARK FUNERAL CHAPEL, 306.244.2103. We love you Mom, give Dad a hug from us. ____________________________________________________
