KELLER, Edward: January 17, 1932 - March 31, 2013, Edward passed away peacefully at Poplar Courts in Wilkie, Saskatchewan on March 31, 2013, at the age of 81 after a lengthy battle with Parkinsons. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 58 years, Fay; his children: Gwen (George Friesen) - Bernie, Janel, Dillon; Denis (Laura Leinenweber) - Barret, Denee, Nathan; Ronalda (Murray Zakresky) - Chad, Jeremy, Justin; Mark (Darlene Chewka) - Ryan, Nick, Kelsey, Cody; Murray (Kelly Dielsen) - Travis, Linsey, Jordan; Trent (Deidre Kappel) - Andrew, Zachary, Bryce; Greg (Rhonda Hilbert) - Taylor, Jessica; Colin (Carol Weber) - Edward, Joseph, Luke, Katherine, Samuel; JennyLee (Gary Nolin) - Johanna, Gavin, Garson; Trina (Gerald Duhaime) - Thomas, Mathew, Adam, Robert; and 8 cherished great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brothers and sisters: Elizabeth, Magdelena, Joseph, Ralph, and Adam. He was predeceased by his parents, Edward and Johanna; his brothers: Anton (died in infancy), Anton, and Wendolyn; and sisters: Veronica (died in infancy) and Agnes. Edward was born January 17, 1932, to Edward and Johanna (Sander) Keller, the eighth oldest of eleven children on the family farm in the Inverallen District east of Wilkie. He attended Inverallen School and enjoyed the farm life. He loved sports; playing hockey and ball in his earlier years. He also played many instruments, providing entertainment for numerous social gatherings from wedding dances to school events beginning at the young age of 7. Edward was also known to enjoy a good game of cards. On April 20, 1954 he married Fay Zimmer and settle down on the family farm near the Wolf area. In 1986 they moved to Wilkie but continued to maintain a strong interest in the family farm. We will miss his humor, his ability to entertain, and his interest and attendance at family functions, kids sporting activities and performances. Prayers were held at St. James Roman Catholic Church in Wilkie, Sask. on Wednesday, April 3, 2013 at 7:30 p.m. with Georgina Thomas presiding, followed by a mass and celebration of his life on Thursday, April 4, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. with Father Al Anyichie as celebrant. Readers were Linsey Koch and Jeremy Zakresky; Altar Servers, Taylor Keller, Jessica Keller, Robert Duhaime, Kate Keller; Intentions, Andy Keller and Nick Keller; Soloist, Johanna Nolin; Honorary Bearers, "All Ed's grandchildren"; Urn Bearer, Murray Keller; Ushers, Marie Volk and Don Zimmer. Interment followed in Wilkie Cemetery, Wilkie, Sask. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Poplar Courts, Parkinson Society Saskatchewan or to church masses.
