Also condolences to Margie Clair and Laurie and Jack Rieter and family of Radisson on the loss of their mother and grandmother Ida Bole, who passed away March 17 at the age of 93. She had resided at the Borden Care Home.

Radisson Co-op held their annual meeting preceded by a roast beef supper on a stormy March 20 evening in Radisson Hall. Members received a large mug with the new logo, "You're at home here." Quite a few didn't make it to the supper and only 45 stayed for the meeting to hear reports from general manager Robbie Schmidt, who thanked everyone who did come out in the storm and icy roads.

Schmidt stated the co-op had $4 million in sales in 2012, down 4 per cent but with the gross margin still up at $323,000. They lost some on the sale of the former liquor store building and on fuel sales, but card-lock sales were up 44 per cent and liquor sales 10 per cent. They gave $68,000 back to members. Schmidt thanked District 11 director, Beryl Bauer, for being re-elected and for coming out and thanked retail advisor Graham Getz for attending. He thanked his staff for doing most of the renovating at the store.

Gus Kindt spoke on the spring convention March 5 - 7 where Mark Tewksbury gave a very inspiring talk. Beryl Bauer gave a report from the FCL convention which had 327 delegates attending. FCL had $8.8 billion in sales and $827 million in savings and gave back $527 million to co-ops and members. In 2012 there were 46 new retail projects and 133 smaller projects with eight new co-ops due to amalgamation.

The $2.7 billion refinery expansion is complete, producing 145,000 barrels a day, the fourth largest in Canada. There will be no shortage of fuel this spring and farmers can fill up now and not have to pay until June. Bauer encouraged youth 12 - 18 years to attend youth camp at Candle Lake this summer.

President Bryan Clair gave his report, thanking all the members, the staff, board and special guests for attending.

The financial report given by Robb showed $2,105,744 in assets, $346,814 in liabilities, and members' equity, which includes reserves and retained savings, at $1,785,960. Sales for 2012 were $4,196,997 with the cost of goods at $3,873,735 for a gross margin of $323,262. Expenses were $575,951 and patronage refunds from FCL were $347,906 for a net savings of $78,430, down from 2011 because of the building loss and less fuel sold.

From the date of incorporation in 1939, sales have been $69,975,477 with net savings of $4,471,581. There are 851 members with 588 of those active. Re-elected to the board were Bryan Clair and Alvin Barth of Radisson and Wade Schmidt of Ruddell. FCL was appointed auditor for 2013 and a tabletop gas grill door prize went to Regan Schensney of Radisson.

After the general meeting a partnership presentation was made on the amalgamation of Radisson and Battlefords co-ops, showing marketplace trends, changing business environments, services offered by the partners, information about Battlefords Co-op (which includes Glaslyn and Cutknife), information about Radisson Co-op and showing what the combined locations would have in members, sales, assets, employees, etc. Advantages, benefits and drawbacks were given on the partnership and also a 2013 shared vision.

There will be a future meeting and voting will be held in Radisson April 23 at 7:30 p.m. in the hall and in North Battleford April 30 at 8 p.m. Members' input is vital for these meetings.
