Moisture hampering farming operations

The area farmers are trying to get the crop in without getting stuck, however with the rain that we are getting it is hard for them to miss those wet spots. The roads are soft and breaking up so it is making it difficult as well.

The area farmers are trying to get the crop in without getting stuck, however with the rain that we are getting it is hard for them to miss those wet spots. The roads are soft and breaking up so it is making it difficult as well. It is hard to believe that 13 short years ago we were crying for rain and now the land is so wet that parts of fields can't be seeded or pastured in some cases.

June bride elect, Tonielle (Toni) Wall, was honoured with a bridal shower May 4 at the Legion Hut in Edam, with a warm and generous bunch of ladies sharing in the celebration. Toni is the youngest daughter of Joyce and Edwin Wall of Edam and Jesse Remple is the son of Arnold and Frieda Remple of Swift Current where they grain and cattle farm. Toni and Jesse will be married on June 21 at Hanley where Jesse has recently purchased a ranch. Jesse has cattle and trains horses full time. He has competed in many competitions showcasing his training abilities and has built up his clientele. Toni is completing her training as a registered nurse in Saskatoon. She loves being on the farm and looks forward to helping Jesse outside as much as possible. Congratulations, Toni and Jesse.
