One person dead, one injured, after Saskatchewan multi-vehicle crash

YORKTON, Sask. — An 82-year-old woman is dead and a second woman has serious injuries after a three-vehicle crash in east-central Saskatchewan.

RCMP say a minivan collided Saturday afternoon with a vehicle pulling a utility trailer on Highway 9, south of Yorkton.

The van then struck a pickup truck.

The senior woman, who was from Canora, Sask., was at the wheel of the minivan.

A 37-year-old Yorkton woman who was driving the pickup was airlifted to hospital, while the occupants of the third vehicle were not hurt.

The highway was closed for several hours while police investigated. (CJGX)
