Neilburg Composite School is still collecting Campbell's Soup labels. You can drop them off at the school or at the co-op grocery store. The school just received free soccer balls and a pump for the elementary grades with their points from last year.

The final tally of pledges brought in for the Terry Fox Run this year was $1,573.50. Thank you to all the school and community members who support this worthy cause. Nearly everyone has had someone close to them deal with cancer and hopefully this will help bring us closer to finding a cure.

The winners of the draws for the T-shirts were Colton Walde and William Downie. The Terry Fox book draw winners were Anna Bergen and Eduard Borja.

Hat Day, Oct. 5, at NCS was a huge success. The funds from this help pay for the NCS foster child and Operation Christmas boxes. The SRC mailed their foster child some Christmas gifts, Oct. 15. The SRC purchased a toque, scarf, gloves, two shirts, a stuffed gorilla and a colouring book with crayons for the school's Chinese foster child.

From Nov. 1 to 12, the SRC will be collecting change to help pay for the 26 Operation Christmas boxes they fill. If anyone would like to fill a family box, please contact Mrs.Kerr-Goodfellow at the school. If anyone wants to donate new items like pencils, notepads, small toys, we would gladly put them in the boxes.

Other October events at NCS include some magazine initiatives like stuffing people into a car and duct taping students to the wall.
