A new route and a new location for follow-up festivities proved popular among the people attending Battleford's annual parade. With no threat of rain, the evening was clear, but the mosquitoes were biting.

A route that included the stretch of Central Ave. from Fort Battleford to main street saw many vehicles parked in the ditches and fields along Central, providing a shelter from mosquitoes for those who stayed inside, but blankets and lawn chairs were set out by those who brought along bug repellent.

Prior to the parade leaving the marshalling area in the Fort Battleford parking lot, judging took place and ribbons were awarded.

First in the classic auto category was Busted Knuckle Antique Tractors (the Rowland family), second was George Sample's 1951 Pontiac Chieftain Streamliner car and third was Pat Hutchinson's 1964 Pontiac.

In the non-local commercial category, first place went to Gold Eagle Casino, with Battlefords and District Co-op second and Great Canadian Oil Change third.
