Drive-In opened in 1952

The North Park Drive-In Theatre, located at 2301 - 99th St. (present location of Tim Horton's and Sobeys) was opened in the summer of 1952. Families with children could watch a movie and not need a babysitter and teenagers found drive-ins ideal for dates.

Color TVs and VCRs contributed to the decline in drive-ins and on June 15, 1985 winds measured at 95 kph, caused extensive damage to the screen and it was never rebuilt.
