Maymont Central School fall sports teams have completed their seasons.

The senior boys' soccer team attended the 1A provincial playoffs in Middle Lake Friday. They had two really close matches. Their first match was against Lake Lenore. It was close with the boys losing 3 to 1. Their second match was against Rosthern. They played well and by a score of 4 to 2. The boys had a great season. They developed their skills and showed excellent sportsmanship throughout the season. A special thanks to Ryan Nickell for his time and work in making a successful soccer season for the boys.

The junior volleyball teams also completed their seasons on the weekend. The boys played regionals at John Paul II Collegiate. They won their first match against Spiritwood. Their second match was against Pelican Lake. The match went back and forth and each team won a game. They had to play a third and deciding game for the match. MCS lost the third game so they did not advance to playoffs. Thanks to Sean Lockwood for coaching the boys this season.

The junior girls attended regionals at North Battleford Comprehensive High School. They played well but did not advance. Thanks to Kandice Walker for coaching the girls.

Coaching is rewarding, but it takes time and commitment. Decisions are made that are not always popular, but have to be made. Thanks again to all the coaches.

Basketball, curling, and badminton will be the next sports available to students.

The school participated in a team building on Friday afternoon. All the students were divided into 10 teams. The staff made a team and they were team 11. Each team was given a bag of 75 balloons and some masking tape. The idea was to blow up the balloons and build the tallest free-standing structure possible in 20 minutes. Teams worked quickly. Some had a plan and some just started sticking balloons together with tape. Several balloons popped before they made it to the structure. When the whistle blew at the end of 20 minute, all structures were standing except one. It fell just as the whistle blew. Team number 10 barely beat the staff's amazing structure. The staff would have won for using the most masking tape. It was a great experience and exercise in working together. Thanks to Twyla Stott andJean-Anne Jackson for organizing the Education Week activities.

Driver training has started. Mr. Gordon Dykstra will be teaching the book part of the course. Hafford and Maymont alternate sessions so Mr. Dykstra only has to conduct one class per day.

The school welcomes Roxanne Jordan, to the school for a month. She will be replacing Mrs. Krista Nickell, while she is on sick leave.

Please remember the school's annual Remembrance Day service will be held Friday, Nov. 8, in the school gymnasium. Everyone is welcome to attend. There will be a chili and bun sale following the service.
