The North Battleford SaskTel Pioneers recently began a hygiene kit project in the Battlefords.

With the help of several local businesses and organizations the SaskTel Pioneers gathered material to put together hygiene packs to hand out to various schools and organizations in the community where there was a need. The kits included shampoo, conditioner, lotion, soap, toothbrushes, toothpaste, floss, Kleenex and hair brushes.

The Battlefords dental and hotel associations along with several local businesses graciously donated all the materials for the hygiene kits and the Pioneers assembled and distributed them.

Altogether 302 kits were assembled and distributed to Lawrence School, St. Mary School, Interval House and Battlefords and District Food and Resource Centre. There were also about 725 leftover items that were given to the Reclaim Outreach Center on 102nd Street.

The Pioneers say the enthusiasm and support for the project was overwhelming and the organization members hope to continue on in the upcoming year.
