Local quilter featured in international magazine

The Quilt Patch

Rivers’ Edge Quilters is very proud of member Heather Hochbaum, whose first ever solo quilt show entitled Lady Sings the Blues is featured in the April/May edition of Quilters Newsletter magazine.

Despite many members being away enjoying warmer climes, members have been very busy. Members enjoyed a three-day Mystery Quilt sewing marathon. No one knows what the final quilt looks like – thus the "mystery." Each clue of the mystery includes directions in creating one type of square for the quilt. Many squares (clues) are sewn together to produce blocks. These blocks are finally joined in rows to complete the quilt.

As the photos show, this Mystery Quilt might be called Rivers' Edge Quilters: Spinning (Pin)Wheels.

Continued community involvement produced mats for the local animal shelter. Members anticipate many exciting sewing activities in the near future.
