The Dekker Centre for the Performing Arts will be holding auditions for On Stage at the Dekker Centre, a showcase for performing artists from the Battlefords and area to be held in March of 2016.

Santee Smith, the star of Kaha:wi Dance Theatre's presentation of NeoIndigenA is a graduate of Canada's National Ballet School, McMaster University – where she received degrees in Physical Education and Psychology and York University – where she completed an MA in Dance. In NeoIndigenA, Smith fuses her experiences growing up on Six Nations of the Grand River reserve with her formal dance and physical education.

Smith's career has spanned over twenty years and her latest program is described as "exploring our relationship to all living entities and elements" and "promises to be both transcendent and primordial." The solo dance program will inhabit "earthworld," "skyworld," and "underworld" in telling its story.

Tickets are on sale for the Feb. 24 show through the Dekker Centre online at dekkercentre.com or by phone at 306-445-7700 ext. 2. Cost is $44 plus GST.
