Since building our home in Battleford 30 years ago, my wife and I have been involved in sports, playing ball and hockey and coaching many levels of hockey including the North Stars. In the 1980s, I got involved in municipal government, serving on council for 12 years. I worked on growing our community in population, roads and water and am proud that our water is as good as anywhere in the province.
We the residents must work together to have the best community in the province. Growth in our town comes with jobs and security; we need sustainable jobs, excellent healthcare, safe streets, affordable housing, a great educational system and great recreational facilities. I believe we have all of these available but I don't believe we are getting the best from them.
My vision is that we can all walk down the street feeling safe and able to communicate with one another.
