Some art club members enjoyed a workshop by artist Bonny Macnab on eco printing on paper and plant identification held at the River Valley Visitor Centre. It was a fun day, and a learning experience working with plant leaves on watercolour paper.

“Art washes away from the soul the dust of everyday life.”– Pablo Picasso
A few members took time from their everyday life this week to challenge themselves with a creative project. An interesting variety of works were noted: a colourful abstract, a large scale mandala, skull painting, a ship drawing, landscape paintings and pencil portraiture.
If you are interested in pursuing any form of art, please feel welcome to join us on Tuesdays at the Don Ross Centre craft room.
Members are reminded that yearly fees are being collected during the month of September.
Our club has made plans to hold our annual Art Show and Sale on Oct. 27 and 27, so we hope you will plan on visiting to observe our works.

“Even in darkness it is possible to see light.” – Elsie Weseil
Any god art is a contrast between light and dark. A few hardy souls met for several hours this week to produce works of art – watercolour, acrylic, buffalo skulls and mandala were all on display.
The local artists’ display in the Chapel Gallery is well worth a visit to see.
Coming up for the art club is the show and sale at the end of October. Further information to follow.
Pam brought her sister-in-law who is here from England for a visit. Welcome, Sara.

Ten members came out to work – and play – at this week’s Battlefords Art Club regular session. Pieces in watercolor, acrylic and graphite were furthered by various artist members.
A number of the club members have pieces in the Chapel Gallery Members’ Exhibition. We encourage anyone interested in art to see the artwork of local artists there.
