A 13-year-old girl accused of aggravated assault against two young children in a wooded area in La Ronge was released on bail.

The young offender – who can’t be identified in accordance with the Youth Criminal Justice Act – was granted bail in La Ronge Provincial Court after a show cause hearing on June 5.

She was released on conditions including 24-hour house arrest, not be within five kilometres of La Ronge, not possess any weapons and to report to a youth worker.

The La Ronge RCMP General Investigation Section arrested the girl on June 2 in relation to an investigation into the assault on two children on May 29 in a wooded area near the 400 block of Bells Point Road in La Ronge.

Police say the incident wasn’t random.

The youth is scheduled back in court later this month to enter a plea.
