Battlefords RCMP are investigating an allegation of abduction and assault with a weapon.

RCMP say in the early morning hours of Sunday, July 25, a 28-year-old male was reported to have been assaulted and forcibly removed from a residence he was a guest in situated on the 700 block of 110th Street in North Battleford by several suspects. He was reported to have been taken to a rural location south of Battleford, where he was assaulted further and abandoned. 

The victim was able to find his way to a residence in the area, and police and ambulance responded. The victim was taken to hospital for treatment for injuries including lacerations to his arm and back, and he is expected to make a full recovery.

No arrests have been made and the matter remains under investigation.
