Big River RCMP request the public’s assistance in locating an adult male wanted in relation to a sexual assault reported to police on Jan. 18, shortly before midnight. The assault occurred at a residence in the community of Big River First Nation.

The male fled the residence after an altercation with the female victim, who was then able to contact police. The female was treated by medical personnel for injuries sustained during the assault. No further information about the victim will be provided. 

As a result of investigation, Skylar Blaze Lachance, 22, from Big River First Nation is charged with: 1 count, sexual assault; 1 count, assault causing bodily harm; 1 count, utter threats.

There is a warrant for Skylar Lachance’s arrest.

He may be in the community of Big River First Nation or Ahtahkakoop Cree Nation, but this has not been confirmed. He should not be approached.
