A Biggar woman failed to appear in North Battleford Provincial Court Oct. 19 for a scheduled appearance and a judicial bench warrant was issued for her arrest.

Desiree Hinse, 24, and three others were arrested on Sept. 2 after the North Battleford Gang Task Force initiated a traffic stop on two vehicles.

According to Sgt. Adam Buckingham from the Battlefords General Investigation Section, police officers noticed the occupants in two vehicles appeared to be “interacting” with one another in a parking lot on Railway Ave. The RCMP didn’t specify what the interaction was but said one of the occupants was known to police and had an outstanding warrant. Police also noticed weapons inside one of the vehicles.

The other three people arrested were Rae Ahenakew, 40, of Mosquito First Nation, Shynia Skeavington, 24, of Mosquito First Nation, and Matthew Greer, 34, from Biggar. Skeavington appears next in North Battleford Provincial Court on Oct. 27, Grear appears on Nov. 2 and Ahenakew appears on Oct. 26.
