Damian Moosomin’s accused killer has bail hearing

A woman charged with first-degree murder will have to wait a few more days to find out if she will be granted bail.

Stormy Wapass-Semaganis, 23, from Edmonton, had a bail hearing in Battleford Court of Queen’s Bench June 14. The judge reserved a decision until June 17.

Wapass-Semaganis is charged for Damian Moosomin’s murder. Denver Roy, 36, from Sweetgrass First Nation, Jannay Blackbird, 32, from Saulteaux First Nation, Tye Partridge, 23, from Moosomin First Nation, and Melissa Semaganis, 41, from Poundmaker First Nation are also charged with his murder.

Moosomin was reported missing to police on May 11, 2020. His body was found in the 1500 block of 105 Street in North Battleford on May 16, 2020.

The charges against the accused haven’t been proven in court.
