The investigation goes on by Turtleford and Onion Lake RCMP as well as RCMP specialized units into a death in the RM of Frenchman Butte on Jan. 1.
The identity of the individual is now known. The victim has been identified as 26-year-old Braeden Alfred James Sparvier. Saskatchewan RCMP confirmed in a news release that he was the victim of a homicide.
An autopsy is being conducted today by Saskatchewan Coroners Service; next of kin have been notified and Victim Services have been offered.
A two kilometer stretch of road along the grid of Township Road 542 continues to be blocked off in the RM for an undetermined amount of time. Police say traffic is being re-routed and the RCMP is thanking residents and motorists in the Turtleford detachment area for their patience and cooperation.
