On Sunday, July 12, at approximately 2:30 a.m., Lumsden RCMP, local EMS, and Regina Beach Fire and Rescue all responded to reports of a single vehicle rollover that occurred on Township Road 211, also known as the Lumsden Beach access road.
When first responders arrived on scene, they located one of the two occupants, a 54-year-old woman, outside the vehicle, deceased. The other occupant, a 54-year-old male, was located inside the vehicle and was taken to hospital in Regina for medical treatment.
An RCMP Traffic Analyst attended to examine the scene; their investigation will take several months to complete. Initial investigation indicates that the lone SUV, heading westbound, rolled into a ditch.
Alcohol is being investigated as a factor in this collision.
The investigation is ongoing.
