A Fishing Lake First Nation Man faces numerous firearms-related offences and mischief causing danger to life after a shooting in a home.

According to Wynyard RCMP, on March 21 they got a call that a man shot a weapon inside a home on Fishing Lake First Nation. While the police were en route, they found the suspect behind a vehicle on a nearby road.

Police arrested him and four others. After investigating, the four were released and Lane Nataucappo, 22, of Fishing Lake First Nation, was charged with carrying a concealed weapon, unsafe storage of a firearm, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, possession of a prohibited/restricted firearm with ammunition without a license, using a firearm in the commission of an offence, unauthorized possession of a prohibited weapon, mischief causing danger to life, discharging a firearm while being reckless and possession of a controlled substance.

Nataucappo is scheduled to appear in Wynyard Provincial Court on March 26.
