Four charged in drug bust

Four individuals face charges following a drug bust at a residence on 109th Street in North Battleford.

Nov. 13, RCMP executed a search warrant on the residence on the 1300 block of 109th Street. During the search police found a substantial amount of cocaine and approximately $3,000 in cash. Five people were located and arrested inside the residence. Four have been charged.

Charged are: Devon Clifford Norgaard, 23, of North Battleford; Matthew Steele, 26, of North Battleford area; Vanessa Heilman, 25, of North Battleford; and Jayde Lauryn Mitchell, 18, of North Battleford

Each has been charged with one count each of possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking, possession of marijuana and possession of the proceeds of crime.

All were held in custody and made their first appearance Monday morning in Battlefords Provincial Court. They were all remanded to Tuesday morning for a bail hearing.

The investigation is continuing. The search and the investigationinvolved members of the Battlefords Provincial,Municipal GIS units, Battlefords Rural, City, andProvincial Traffic units of the RCMP.
