Highway 17 now open

Update: Traffic is no longer being rerouted and emergency vehicles have cleared the scene.

Maidstone RCMP are currently at the scene of a two-vehicle collision on Highway 17, approximately five kilometres north of Lloydminster, Sask.

Police say, Highway 17 is blocked in both directions and traffic is being re-routed for an undetermined amount of time. Motorists are advised to plan alternate routes and to follow traffic directions given by officers on scene. Motorists are also reminded to slow down to 60 km/hr when passing emergency vehicles.

Lloydminster Rescue Squad, local EMS and fire department are also on scene to assist. An RCMP collision reconstructionist is en route to investigate.

RCMP say Aa update will be released once the highway reopens.
