La Ronge RCMP investigate drowning of 42-year-old male

On Saturday, Aug. 1, just before 6 p.m., La Ronge RCMP received a report from La Ronge EMS advising of a drowning at the Bell’s Point Beach located on the Lac La Ronge Indian Band. Upon arrival, officers located a 42-year-old male on the beach.

On Saturday, Aug. 1, just before 6 p.m., La Ronge RCMP received a report from La Ronge EMS advising of a drowning at the Bell’s Point Beach located on the Lac La Ronge Indian Band.

Upon arrival, officers located a 42-year-old male on the beach. A member of the public was providing CPR and officers assisted until EMS arrived and took over. The male was transported to hospital by ground ambulance where he was pronounced deceased.

At this time, police do not believe the cause of death to be suspicious.

A forensic autopsy was ordered by the Saskatchewan Coroner’s Service and is scheduled to take place sometime this week.

The investigation is ongoing.
