Lots of impaired drivers nabbed during January Traffic Safety Spotlight

January turned out to be a busy month as SGI focused on impaired driving offences during its January Traffic Safety Spotlight.
 
Police reported 224 impaired driving offences, including 194 Criminal Code charges and 30 roadside administrative suspensions across Saskatchewan, according to SGI's news release.

SGI also noted that in January police around the province reported 640 distracted driving offences including 545 cellphone tickets, 383 tickets for seatbelts and car seats, and
5,160 tickets for speeding and aggressive driving.
 
Impaired driving will be the focus several more times in 2019. This month, the focus is on seatbelts and car seats.
