An 89-year-old man died in a two-vehicle crash at an intersection between Highway 14 and a service road in Unity Friday.

Unity RCMP say the man was operating a Dodge Caravan that crossed over Highway 14 into the path of an east-bound Ford Flex operated by a 63-year-old man from Saskatoon. The driver of the Ford, a Saskatoon resident, was treated at Unity Health Centre and released, according to RCMP.

Police say the man who died was from the Unity district and his name will not be released until family is notified.

Traffic was re-routed around the accident scene forĀ a few hours while the RCMP Traffic Reconstructionists attended to the scene and investigated the crash. The cause of the collision is still under investigation.
