Missing man located deceased in Lake Diefenbaker

On July 22, the Hutterian Emergency Aquatic Response Team (HEART) reported to Elbow RCMP that they had located a deceased individual in Lake Diefenbaker during a search they were conducting.

On July 22, the Hutterian Emergency Aquatic Response Team (HEART) reported to Elbow RCMP that they had located a deceased individual in Lake Diefenbaker during a search they were conducting.

Elbow RCMP and Saskatchewan Ministry of Environment Conservation Officers attended the scene and recovered the individual. It was confirmed to be a 36-year-old male who did not resurface after jumping in the lake to help his children on July 1.

We are not releasing the male’s name. His family has been notified. The Saskatchewan RCMP offers all of his loved ones and friends our sincere condolences.

Since July 1, HEART, the Elbow/Outlook RCMP detachment, the Saskatchewan RCMP Underwater Recovery Team, and the Civil Air Search and Rescue Association have conducted searches for the man on Lake Diefenbaker. The Saskatchewan RCMP wishes to thank our partner agencies for their assistance in this search.
