A 28-year-old Kindersley woman charged with second-degree murder in connection to the death of her infant daughter made another court appearance in Saskatoon Provincial Court.

Teenie Rose Steer, 28, charged with the Sept. 27, 2018, death of her one-month-old daughter appeared in Saskatoon Provincial Court April 30 via CCTV to speak to the matter.

According to RCMP, police responded to a report of an infant in cardiac arrest on Sept. 27, 2018, and life-saving efforts by both EMS and hospital doctors were unsuccessful. Police say an autopsy the next day uncovered information that led investigators to believe the death was suspicious in nature and major crimes took over the investigation.

Steer was arrested in February 2020 and charged with second-degree murder.  She has three more children.

The charges against Steer haven't been proven in court. She remains in custody.

Steer's case was adjourned until May 28 to be spoken to.
