A bail hearing for an Onion Lake man arrested by the RCMP Crime Reduction Team was adjourned.

Lyndon Belly, 34, had a show cause hearing scheduled Sept. 14 in Lloydminster Provincial Court but it was postponed at the request of both Crown and defence.

Belly has been in custody since his arrest Aug. 15 after the RCMP CRT was sent to Onion Lake to tackle alleged gang activity.

According to the RCMP, they tried stopping a vehicle for a traffic violation but the driver sped away and the police took chase. In an attempt to stop the vehicle they put spike belts twice on Hwy 17 but the truck evaded them by leaving the highway.

Police followed the truck and say two women and one man fled the vehicle before breaking into a nearby house. Wanita Harper, 30, of Onion Lake and Cheyenne Harper, 27, of Lloydminster were also arrested.

Belly was charged with resisting arrest, break and enter, possession of property obtained by crime and possession of cocaine. Cheyenne Harper was charged with break and enter and resisting arrest. Wanita Harper was charged with break and enter, resisting arrest, fleeing from police, driving while disqualified, refusing to provide blood alcohol samples, and dangerous operation of a vehicle.
