A North Battleford man facing assault, break and enter and weapons charges wasn’t released on bail.

Brandon Holmes, 27, had a show cause hearing in La Ronge Provincial Court Oct. 26 but it was adjourned. He has been in custody since his arrest and charged with assault, discharging a firearm with intent, carrying a concealed weapon, and two counts of break and enter.

According to Stanley Mission RCMP, they got a call about a man with a firearm at a residence on Oct. 5. When police arrived the man had already fled. Police found Holmes a few kilometres from Stanley Mission. They say he stole a boat to flee the community and was at another cabin.

Holmes’ show cause hearing is now scheduled for Nov. 2 in La Ronge Provincial Court.
