On Oct. 2 at 6:18 a.m., Maidstone RCMP attended to a scene of a two-vehicle collision on Highway 17 approximately five miles south of the city of Lloydminster. An eastbound GMC pickup truck collided with a southbound five-ton commercial box truck.
EMS arrived on scene and transported the driver of the GMC truck, who was the lone occupant, to Lloydminster hospital. The 21-year-old male was then transported by STARS to Saskatoon where he was pronounced deceased.
The driver of the five-ton was not injured.
RCMP collision reconstructionists were on scene. There are no charges pending.
The name of the deceased will not be released.
