Christopher Cook, 26, had a preliminary hearing in Lloydminster Provincial Court Oct. 7 and 8 with Judge Kim Young ruling there was sufficient evidence for the case to go to Battleford Court of Queen’s Bench for trial. A date hasn’t been set.

Cook has pleaded not guilty and the charges against him haven’t been proven in court.

Cook was charged April 20 after Onion Lake RCMP responded to a call that a 50-year-old man was shot. He was treated at the scene and taken to hospital with non life-threatening injuries.

Cook was released on bail in May.

Police say the two lived across the street from each other.

North Battleford Provincial General Investigation Section of the RCMP, North Battleford Forensic Identification Service, and the North Battleford Police Dog Service assisted in the investigation.  RCMP officers from Onion Lake, Glaslyn, and Turtleford Detachments, as well as the Maidstone RCMP Roving Traffic Unit also responded.
