Onion Lake woman accused of killing Sparvier remains in custody

The case against an Onion Lake woman charged with second-degree murder continues to be adjourned. On Dec. 21, Shari Heathen, 27, was scheduled to elect how she wants to be tried but the matter was adjourned in Lloydminster Provincial Court to Jan.

The case against an Onion Lake woman charged with second-degree murder continues to be adjourned.

On Dec. 21, Shari Heathen, 27, was scheduled to elect how she wants to be tried but the matter was adjourned in Lloydminster Provincial Court to Jan. 25, 2021.

Heathen is accused of killing Braden Alfred James Sparvier, 26. His body was found Jan. 1, 2020, along a road in the R.M. of Frenchman Butte, which borders Onion Lake Cree Nation.

Heathen remains in custody since her arrest in July.

RCMP say the investigation into Sparvier’s death is ongoing and they encourage anyone with information to call Turtleford RCMP at 306-845-4520.
