An Onion Lake woman charged with killing an Onion Lake man had a court appearance scheduled in Lloydminster Provincial Court Sept. 16 but the matter was adjourned.
Shari Heathen, 27, is charged with second-degree murder in connection to the death of 26-year-old Braden Alfred James Sparvier.
Sparvier’s body was found Jan. 1, 2020, east of St. Walburg in the R.M. of Frenchman Butte. Frenchman Butte is about 30 kilometres south of Onion Lake Cree Nation.
RCMP Major Crimes Unit North arrested Heathen in July 2020 after a lengthy investigation.
RCMP say the investigation into Sparvier’s death is on-going and they encourage anyone with information to call Turtleford RCMP at 306-845-4520. Information may also be submitted anonymously to Saskatchewan Crime Stoppers by calling 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) or submitting a tip online at www.saskcrimestoppers.com.
Heathen remains in custody and is scheduled to appear in Lloydminster Provincial Court Oct. 19 to elect how she wants to be tried.
