A Prince Albert man facing child porn charges failed to appear in court and a bench warrant was issued for his arrest.

Nick Daniels, 32, was scheduled to appear in Prince Albert Provincial Court Aug. 11 on charges of possession of child porn.

Daniels was arrested July 7 after members of the Saskatchewan Internet Child Exploitation Unit (ICE) searched his home. Police seized several electronic devices and confirmed there were images and videos that met the definition of child pornography.

The ICE investigation started in early March 2020. The ICE unit said the investigation involved the possession of child pornography from an online storage software program that was based out of the U.S.

The Saskatchewan ICE Unit consists of investigators from the RCMP, as well as police from the Regina, Saskatoon and Prince Albert Police Services. They investigate crimes that involve the abuse and/or the exploitation of children on the Internet.
