Paramedic killed in crash near Beauval

The Saskatchewan Health Authority has confirmed one of its ambulances from Meadow Lake EMS was involved in a fatal crash near Beauval while responding to a call late in the afternoon of Oct. 25. The crash resulted in the death of one of the paramedics.

SHA say in a release it is currently working to have community and staff supports in place to provide mental health assistance where needed.

“Our thoughts and deepest condolences are with all patients, individuals and families that have been involved and impacted by this tragic accident. EMS personnel put themselves at risk to serve others, so it is especially heartbreaking when they are affected by such a crash. To protect the privacy of those involved, we will not be sharing any additional information at this time,” said the SHA in a news release.

The release concluded, “We wish to thank all those who assisted those in need at the scene and continue to help and offer support.”

Reports are that two others were also killed in the crash, but details are scarce so far.
