A missing Estevan man has been found dead and police are investigating his death as a homicide.

On Monday, June 7, 2021, around 6:30 p.m. Estevan Police Service received a missing persons complaint. 55-year-old Angelo Galido failed to arrive for work that day, which was uncommon.

Around 10:30 p.m. on June 7, Estevan Police found Galido deceased inside his residence on the 800 block of Henry Street. His family has been notified of his death.

An autopsy was completed on June 8 in Regina and Galido’s death is considered a homicide. Police didn’t release his cause of death as they say it is part of the ongoing investigation.

The initial investigation determined Galido was last seen at a business off Highway 39 in Estevan on June 4 at approximately 10 p.m.

Investigators are working to establish a timeline of:

·When and where Galido was last seen between 10 p.m. on Friday, June 4 and when he was discovered deceased on Monday, June 7.

·Any suspicious activity on the 800 block of Henry Street in Estevan between Friday, June 4 and Monday, June 7.

RCMP Major Crime Unit North has taken the lead at the request of Estevan Police Service, who also continues to actively assist with this ongoing investigation. It is common for policing agencies in the province to work together and provide support as needed and requested. Also assisting are Estevan Police Service Forensic Identification Services and Yorkton RCMP Forensic Identification Services.

There will continue to be an increased police presence around Henry Street in Estevan for the remainder of this week.
