RCMP are looking for a suspect in a fatal pedestrian collision that occurred just over a year ago.
The suspect has been identified as August Devin Nahbexie, 22 years old, of the Saulteaux First Nation
On July 25, 2018, Battlefords RCMP received a 911 call of a male who was laying on Highway 4, 1 kilometre south of Battleford. RCMP arrived on scene shortly after and the investigation indicated that the male was deceased as a result of being run over by a vehicle. The vehicle then fled the scene and was not identified at the time by police.
The subsequent investigation done by Battlefords RCMP, Battleford Provincial GIS, Forensic Ident Section, and the F Division traffic reconstructionalist identified a suspect. Nahbexie has been charged with:
Failure to stop at the scene of an accident causing death.
Fail to comply with a probation order
Fail to comply with an undertaking
Obstruction
August Nahbexie is also wanted on nine other unrelated charges.
