Spiritwood RCMP report fatal two-vehicle collision

On July 5, at approximately 10:26 p.m., Spiritwood RCMP report they attended the scene of a two-vehicle collision on the intersection of Highway 3 and 12 near Shell Lake.

A westbound vehicle was making a left turn onto Highway 12 when it was hit by an eastbound vehicle, say RCMP.

The passenger of the westbound vehicle, a 33-year-old female, was pronounced deceased after arriving at Shellbrook Hospital. The driver of the westbound vehicle, a 23-year-old male, was transported by STARS air ambulance to Saskatoon Royal University Hospital to be treated for undetermined injuries. The 20-year-old driver of the eastbound vehicle was treated on scene for minor injuries and was released.

The name of the deceased will not be released at this time.

Alcohol is considered to be a contributing factor. The collision is still under investigation.
