Stanley Mission RCMP seize large quantity of unlawfully-possessed alcohol, charge woman

Stanley Mission RCMP arrested a woman and seized a large quanitity of unlawfully-possessed alcohol following a traffic stop. On June 5 at approximately 11:30 p.m.

Stanley Mission RCMP arrested a woman and seized a large quanitity of unlawfully-possessed alcohol following a traffic stop.

On June 5 at approximately 11:30 p.m., Stanley Mission RCMP officers stopped a vehicle while conducting a traffic patrol on Highway #915.

After seeing alcohol in plain sight, police officers searched the vehicle, which had four adults and one child in it. They seized 19 66-ounce bottles of whiskey, four 66-ounce bottles of vodka, 10 two-litre bottles of cider and an unloaded firearm.

Some of the alcohol and the firearm were located under the child’s seat.

An adult woman from Stanley Mission was charged with unsafe storage of a firearm and unlawful possession of a alcohol.

She appears in Stanley Mission court on Aug. 10.  

This is the fifth Unlawful Possession of Beverage Alcohol charge laid by Stanley Mission RCMP this year. Any information relating to the illegal sale or transportation of alcohol should be reported immediately to your nearest RCMP Detachment.
