Battlefords RCMP responded to 90 calls for service between 6 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 24 and 6 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 25.

Saturday, Sept. 24

8:22 a.m. - Complaint of theft of car from residence on the 1300 block of 103rd Street in North Battleford. Car later found burning in rural area south of the Battlefords.

10:28 a.m. - Dispute over child custody, no custody order in place, both parties referred to the Family Court to address the custody issue.

11:19 a.m. - Report received of a missing man, last seen at a local licensed establishment the previous night. Complainant called back shortly after, advising the man in question had been located.

4:14 p.m. - Complaint of a fight between a man and woman in the street on the 1500 block of 101st Street in North Battleford. Police responded immediately and the male suspect ran from the scene on police arrival. A foot chase ensued and the male suspect was apprehended by police three blocks away. The female victim confirmed this was a domestic violence incident and charges of assault and resisting arrest are pending against a 22-year-old North Battleford man.

5:15 p.m. - Complaint of harassing messages via texting and social media. Suggested to complainant to block the caller's number and social media accounts. A check with the complainant later made it appear that the blocking tactic was effective and no further messages had been received.

17:30 p.m. - Complaint of assault that occurred a month prior, investigation ongoing.

17:57 p.m. - Complaint of a property dispute after the dissolution of a relationship. Advised the complainant this was a civil matter that needed to be addressed by the Family Courts, as property obtained during the course of a cohabitation relationship belonged to both of them in the eyes of the law, until a court ruled otherwise.

19:55 p.m. - Report received of a missing 11-year-old girl from the girl's mother, after the daughter had not returned from a sleepover the previous night. The mother provided the names of some of the girl's friends, advising she may be at their residences. While police were following up with the names and addresses provided by the complainant, she called back advising police she had located her daughter.

Sunday, Sept. 14

12:56 a.m. - A traffic stop in North Battleford led to the seizure of suspected methamphetamine and marijuana, as well as the arrest of an adult female in breach of her conditional sentence order conditions. Charges are pending against a 32-year-old North Battleford woman.

1:42 a.m. - Complaint of assault with a weapon on the 2400 block of 100th Street in North Battleford, investigation ongoing.

2:45 a.m. - Complaint of break and enter to a business on the Mosquito First Nation, investigation ongoing.

4:05 a.m. - Complaint of an assault with a weapon at a residence on Winder Crescent in North Battleford, occurred during a dispute at a house party, investigation ongoing.

Police also responded to 17 false/nuisance 911 calls, 20 minor disturbance reports, three alarms, six Mental Health Act complaints, 22 traffic investigations, 10 minor property damage complaints, six subjects who were arrested for alcohol related offences, one breach of conditions and seven minor theft/shoplifting complaints.
